Filtration Solutions for Pet Food Industry

In the production process of pet food, the filtration system plays an important role in protecting equipment, systems, pipelines and controlling and improving product quality. The filtration process in pet food production mainly includes incoming water filtration process, sterilization filtration process, vent filtration process and steam filtration process. 1. Incoming Water Filtration Process

In the production process of pet food, the water in the boiler, CIP/SIP system and process water generally comes form municipal water or well water. Since the dirt, rust and other pollutants in the water can damage the equipment and the system, it is necessary to install a filter system to filter it and prolong its service life. The filtering equipment usually uses Stainless Steel Cartridge Filter  Housings, and the filtering consumables usually use High Flow Filters, String Wound Cartridges or Melt Blown Cartridges with 5 micron.

2. Sterilization Filtration Process

The sterilization filtration system is mainly installed before the ingredients and mixing process to ensure the sterility of the process water used for the ingredients and mixing, and enhance the quality of pet food. The sterilization filtration system is generally composed of Sanitary Stainless Steel Filter Housings and Hydrophilic PES Membrane Pleated Filters with 0.22 micron.

3. Vent Filtration Process

The vent filtration process is generally installed on the water storage tank, mainly to prevent bacteria, viruses and other pollutants in the air form entering the water storage tank and maintain the pressure balance of the water storage tank to avoid the water storage tank from collapsing. The filtration system is usually composed of Sanitary SUS316L Filter Housings and Hydrophobic PTFE Membrane Pleated Filters with 0.22 micron.

4. Steam Filtration Process

In the pet food production process, the steam filtration process is mainly used in the CIP/SIP system, pre-conditioning system, gravy injection system, filling system, etc.. It also used for the cleaning, sterilization and disinfection of pet food production equipment and system pipelines and the cooking of semi-finished products. The steam filter system is generally composed of Stainless Steel Filter Housing and Stainless Steel Filter Cartridges.
